I'll be honest. I'm very lazy and would like to retire as soon as possible. Hence this question. ๐
Atleast in the Indian Context,
Ever seen a Tier 1 Law Firm / Investment Banker /Consulting women dating someone below thier league? You could see a lot of these men dating far below thier leagues.
You could see men in Trilegal/SAM/Khaitan dating and even marrying women with 1/3rd of thier incomes. But it's rare to see women in these firms doing the same. The maximum step down for these women is if they date someone from a Tier 2 firm or in house lawyers.
Friends who live in UK or US also tells about how thier IB/Tech Consulting Male friends happily hang out with even pretty bartenders or even bimbo waitress. But has rarely seen female colleagues hanging out with anyone at a lower level.
What women is not sexist. Like men are biologically geared to go for looks, women have biologically evolved to go for resources.
Even the most wealthy women are not looking for wealth or money per se. But they atleast want someone above thier intellectual capacity. Which makes them reluctant to date below thier league.
Women especially in law firms and tech are very intelligent, which means they are less reluctant to go for Gym Boys or anyone making less money / have less intellectual capacity. Wealthy men on the other hand are stupid and go for looks.
Unfortunate, but this is the norm.
Women in Business, Consulting prefer smart or intellectual intelligent men. Which in 21st Century knowledge economy means they won't be interested in a relationship with men almost always above or within thier league. When women date below thier league - they become unsatisfied and resentment grows. When men date below thier league - that's not the case, it may even be the opposite - more satisfying.
Also Toy Boys, Gigolos - It's rare to see women marrying them, maybe some old women will play around with them. But wealthy men still marry younger women just for looks and no other reason. Also age gap out of the league relationships work best for men - because it's biologically possible to start a family and fulfill other purposes.
Like Rupert Murdoch yes? :)
How many female millionaires or billionaires have you seen marrying just for looks or physical attraction. They maybe engaging gigolos or toy boys, but they won't find happiness in the long term or marry them.
Women are good at selection - they holistically look before committing for the long term - that's why they go for men above or within thier range. But men think with thier horny stupid brain even for the long term.
That's why men marry and date less intelligent people way below thiet leagues.
This leads to highly educated / paid women being left out in the dating/ marriage market. They find no/less takers. The men whom they are interested might not be even interested in them and can have different priorities. Wealthy men may not always be looking for another intelligent women to spend time with, they maybe looking for someone more fun to spend time with.
Men are inherently sexist, multiple studies have proven that men love smart women in theory, but not in real life. They want to feel more toxic masculine and 'powerful'. This applies across the spectrum.
The worst inequality of a marriage I have seen in my friends circle women is an IIM Indore Women marrying a Symbiosis Pune MBA guy who also makes as much as her
Men? A Principle Associate who made 40 LPA marrying a School teacher hardly making 3 LPA.
