Time 100 honoree, lol! โ–ฎโ–ฎโ–ฎ took away the spotlight from an entire group of hardworking people and โ–ฎโ–ฎโ–ฎ their cumulative work โ–ฎโ–ฎโ–ฎ! In addition, gaslighted at least one victim of SH because the perpetrator was her collegemate. โ–ฎโ–ฎโ–ฎ
I do agree with the first part. It's unfair that M&A have got so much publicity and awards. The ones who really did the heavy lifting were Anand Grover and Saurabh Kirpal. Let's also not forget that Shyam Divan appeared in the earlier bench and argued very well. Many, many others M&A should have recognised the others. If at all one person could have been chosen for tokenism, it could have been Navtej Johar, the petitioner.
Cringe. Why do people have this urge to keep publicising their personal lives and painting their lives and themselves as something very special? Former diplomats take the cake with this, almost all of them believe they are poets and authors on life. Why not write a personal letter to his daughter or his family/friends instead? Unlike in Muslim countries, there is hardly any dangerous persecution of homosexuals here beyond the obvious legal issues. But still there is some narrative of heavy victimisation (inspired by the West, no doubt) for the sake of creating a discussion on something that is entirely a personal choice and that most people in India hardly have the time to care about.
Very true. Its your personal choice, follow it and keep it with you. If you can't treat it as a normal sexual behaviour, how can you expect others to do the same. Your sexual orientation is your choice, don't see any reason to force it on others. If ones sexual orientation leads to discrimination, then yes, one may take legal recourse or whatever avenue is available to redress it. Else, how it is at all important.
Many years ago the Time 100 list had included a Bihar IAS officer named Gautam Goswami. He was hailed by other Western magazines too. He was honoured for flood relief work and for not allowing BJP leader LK Advani to speak at a rally. It later transpired that he had siphoned off Rs. 17 crore of flood relief money and falsely taken credit from others for doing flood relief work. The western media fell for his lies as he was articulate, handsome, spoke English well and was liberal/anti-BJP in his politics.

Lesson: donโ€™t rely on the Western media for validation please.

Check out Aryan Khanโ€™s case , so itโ€™s not about Western Media . Mr Sameer Wankhade the hero then for catching Bollywood celebs for drugs , CBI is hunting him down and interestingly itโ€™s 17 crores as bribe he had asked . So this reporting was by Indian Media of accusing the entire Bollywood of being drug addicts and pedlers
Lots of homophobia on this thread. A father celebrates his lesbian daughter and you are saying he should keep his emotions to himself. Shame on you!
