Most of the visa consultants are legal scammers.
Reasons on why should you never trust any visa consultants, especially Indian ones:
1) The process of visa for any country is very easy nowadays and mostly online.
2) They will charge you outrageously high fees for filling just a bunch of online forms on your behalf.
3) They will offer a lot of promises and assurances in the beginning and later say that everything depends on the embassy.
4) They will dispatch the legal agreement only after you pay the advance amount to them. You will find out the real terms and conditions when you read the legal agreement which will be when you have already paid them. Most of them will refuse to show their legal agreement before you pay them their fees.
5) Their service legal agreements are completely in their favour and saves them from all liabilities.
6) They will rush you to sign the agreement and give less time to understand it.
7) Most of them are using paid and carefully crafted artificial reviews at all possible ratings websites. Trust me, they are working very hard on paid reviews to try to pass them off as genuine.
8) They will harass you to remove negative review and they will file police complaint, cyber complaint and defamation case for posting a bad review.
9) No visa consultants will ever refund your money. However, initially they tell their clients that the fee is 100% refundable.
10) All visa consultants will take all their fees upfront. Then you will be chasing them to get updates.
11) They will offer heavy discounts to make you enrol early.
12) They will take fees for technical profile evaluation which is otherwise a free process and the result of it will always be positive.
13) Some of them will do false advertising by offering jobs, job description, accommodation, salary range, food, air tickets, etc. on various job portals. None will ever reveal employer name as there exists no such employer. They will lie that the hiring company is going to take care of all your expenses including air tickets.
14) Job search service or job assistance is the biggest scam. They will just reformat your resume and market it randomly to the international employers.
15) They will offer so many fake testimonials over the previous years. They offer heavy discounts to some of their clients for giving fake testimonials.
16) They will try to give you some false sense of security by showing off their certificate of incorporation issued by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, their ISO certification, GSTIN, tax invoices, notarized legal agreements, etc. Registered companies can do consumer fraud which is different from company or tax fraud.
17) Some of them will conduct fake phone or skype job interviews using international phone numbers and the result of the interview will always be negative.
18) You will have to hire a lawyer and spend your time and money to recover your money in courts. You will have the burden of proving all your claims.
19) Some of them will reveal other hidden costs and conditions only once you sign the agreement (like the long list of documents required to initiate your visa process, the costs of IELTS and university transcripts, etc.). If you fail to provide the requisite documents as per the time period of the legal agreement, your file will be closed and you are not eligible for refund.
20) Some of them will conduct a fake interview call with an overseas recruiter or counsellor, using an abroad number, before initiating your visa process.
21) The visa filing process does not require your current salary to be disclosed anywhere but most visa consultants will ask you to disclose your salary as a part of their assessment because they offer different fee structures to different people based on their salaries for providing the same kinds of services.
22) Every consultancy will brag about its goodwill and reputation to sell you the false fancy dreams.
23) They will stretch the visa process or the false promise of job interviews to beyond the agreed upon time period in the service legal agreement so that they can send service end notice as per their contract or ask for contract renewal fees.
24) Hiring paid unauthorized representatives to do immigration process is an offence under immigration laws of most foreign countries, the punishment for which may be severe and most Indian agencies are breaking this law.
25) They will say that when you will file your case through a visa consultant or law agency then your file will be given more priority which is not the case, you can file your case by yourself and it'll be prioritized equally.
26) Their legal team will show intimidating attitude by telling you that you can initiate legal action but we would not refund your fees.
27) They will come up with false and unfair analogy of comparing their consultancy fees with professional fees of doctors and lawyers. Doctors and lawyers do much more than filling up some online forms and they never avoid communication with clients. This comparison is also unfair due to the following reasons:
a) many lawyers work pro bono and many doctors provide free/affordable medical services.
b) they do not charge outrageously high fees most of the times.
c) they go to a college, and spend time and money to get registered in their specialization to provide reliable services. They work hard and give exams to qualify.
d) they do not take all their fees upfront. Many lawyers take some fees upfront and the rest at the disposal of the case or based on per effective hearing in court. Almost all of the times, the hospital bill is paid after the patient has availed the medical services from the registered medical practitioner, except for appointments.
e) Bar Council of India, along with respective State Bar Councils, regulate advocates and Medical Council of India regulates conduct of doctors. They are bound to follow professional ethics. No one monitors the business activities of visa consultancies.
28) They will show their success only through fake reviews and testimonials but they would never let their real clients interact and call it as a company policy.
And yes, the signing of legal agreement is not just a formality. It is the most serious part of your visa process. It is the biggest tool that the legal team of the visa consultants will use in case of conflicts. Never be swayed by the lying sales team of immigration agencies.
I would strongly urge that you do the process yourself instead of wasting exorbitant amounts of money on such consultancies.

They often find their clients by illegally and intentionally posting fake foreign jobs on various job portals and boards. Doing this is banned under the Emigration Act of 1981 but no one is monitoring them so they keep on going.
They have ready made intimidating, defamation notices ready. I have seen almost everybody receives the legal notice with the same kind of accusations and language.

All of these companies had paid reviews and legal agreements and lawyers. You can read their reviews and consumer portal complaints.
There are so many others still operating. More are mushrooming than closing down, many times by the employees of these companies. The modus operandii is always the same for most of them: Indian government MCA registered, paid reviews, legal agreement to look legitimate and threaten later using lawyers. No accountability whatsoever.
They register as a private limited company with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) to appear legitimate.
MCA registration simply means the business is legally incorporated — it does not certify that they are a licensed overseas recruitment agent. Many victims assume “MCA registered” equals “government-approved for foreign recruitment,” which is false.
2) Legal agreements designed to protect them, not you
They make clients sign service agreements that only promise “visa assistance”, never an actual job.
The agreement is written in such a way that if you later accuse them of fraud, they can point to the fine print: “We only provide visa facilitation; we do not guarantee employment.”
This lets them avoid legal trouble while still giving the false impression that they’re a job placement service.
3) Job search “after” visa stamping
They claim that employers will be revealed and interviews arranged only after the visa is stamped — but in reality, there’s no employer.
4) No employer names in ads or listings
On job portals, they post vague “Overseas job opportunities” without naming companies because there is no actual job offer in hand.
The posting’s only purpose is to capture leads for their visa service, not to match applicants to real openings.
5) The profit is in the “processing”
Their business model depends entirely on collecting large “processing fees” upfront. Even if you never travel or get employed, they have fulfilled what’s written in their contract (e.g., “visa assistance service”), so you have little legal recourse.
They exploit legal loopholes and a person needs to verify whether an agency actually has legitimate overseas recruitment authority. That way, you can see where these schemes hide behind “legal” appearances.
In short, they operate in a gray zone — morally fraudulent but legally insulated — by making sure their marketing is misleading but their paperwork is technically accurate.
They flood social media with success stories (often with stock photos or staged testimonials).
Negative reviews are buried or attacked by fake positive ones.
Legal teams then step in if refunds are demanded, framing the client as bound by “terms and conditions,” which are often vague, unfair, or hidden in fine print.
Management distances itself by blaming “bad employees” or hiding behind contracts, while keeping the profits.
2. Positive fake reviews → business benefits, little immediate consequence, enforcement lags.
3. The result is an imbalance: companies can aggressively protect themselves against bad reviews, but consumers rely on underfunded regulators and platforms to police fake positives.
