Aditya Birla Scholarship is given to the top 20 rankers in the CLAT allotment list of the following NLUs

1. NLSIU

2. NALSAR

3. NUJS

4. NLUJ

5. GNLU

That means if you are allotted any of the NLUs and fall in the first 20 students in the respective list of that NLU, you'll be eligible to apply for it.

You then have to write two essays and if your essay gets shortlisted, you'll have an interview. Usually 2-3 people get it from every NLU in one year.

The scholarship needs to be maintained every year for renewal in the next academic year by:

1) Being in the Top 25 of the batch.

2) Having a grade point average of 8/9 in the assignments of eight subjects in an academic year.

3) Participating in two extracurricular forums and activities all throughout the year.

4) Writing an essay on your experience of being an Aditya Birla Scholar.

So if you end up getting NLS but your CLAT rank is 60, you won't be eligible for the scholarship. If however you drop down to NALSAR you'd fall in the top 20 rankers and you can apply for the ABS. Be careful in this aspect when you select an NLU.

Good luck!
