In any case, let’s be clear on a few things. One, not everyone who clears CLAT to get NLS gets a rank good enough for NLUD in AILET. So they don’t have that choice. And honestly, at this point NLUD would be a comparatively better option since there’s no domicile reservation, no crazy huge batch size intake, better location, a more established research culture, people aren’t only geared to corporate law. Then again, kids are not that discerning so they’ll usually go by what others opine. But I don’t see a huge difference between both institutions except in terms of age.
These rankings are kinda arbitrary, we have no idea what is going in behind the scenes, who is paying what to maintain their rankings etc.
Also, these rankings are rather arbitrary especially for the top 4-5 NLUs. All of them are pretty similar and have their own pros and cons and you are bound to do well if are student at any of the 4 universities mentioned above...focus on studying instead of wasting your time on irrelevant rankings which have no impact on your education at the university.
On a serious note, why is OP trying to turn this into a d*ck-measuring contest? These three are considerably older to NLUD and it isn't surprising to see them ranked high anyhow. But I guess, after the NIRF beatdown, you might be looking for any form of relief.
Even every year CALCUTTA UNIVERSITY got better NIRF RANKING than DELHI UNIVERSITY, But du is a central University and students fight for admission in DU.
