I personally would recommend that you must take the opportunity to work in different practice areas and even different fields when you're in law school. I had friends who interned with newspapers, NGOs, government institutions, etc. You wouldn't know what you have missed out on unless you see for it yourself.
I am in a bit of a dilemma regarding if I know what my practice area should be. All my law school life, I have been raving about Disputes and Arbitration and I do enjoy it quite a bit. But rather than exploring other possible areas of law, I stuck it out with Disputes because I believed Arbitration was it for me. However, now as I start my 8th semester, I'm scared that I specialized too early maybe(?) and I should have explored other areas of law. For example, after a course in 7th semester, I became extremely interested in investment law. And now I'm wondering if I should explore more or if its too late?
