Government won't fund these places, so this is inevitable.
Why is that? Do you have a detailed answer as to why the government is so unwilling to help NLUs. The prime minister on one hand grants guest appearances to Symbiosis while on the other hand, NLU tripura has to shut down and government does nothing to prevent it.
Poverty is the most heinous crime you can commit.
I don't see NLU Jodhpur mentioned anywhere in the post, odd of you to bring that here. Maybe it wasn't mentioned because its fee doesn't reach 3 lakhs.
NLS balances it out with a ton of scholarships available both on need and merit based
No, they don't. Compared to the huge batch size intake at NLS now, the number if scholarships are relatively very few. Most kids will have to take education loans to fund their studies at the top NLUs.
Did you even read the post? How does having fee waivers justify the enormous fee....maybe they can keep a reasonable fee and then they wouldn't have to offer fee waivers in the first place.
Habibi, come to Jamia (NIRF 7) + Central University tag + DELHI, for:

1st year β‚Ή10,600 that is β‚Ή5,300 for each semester!!

From 2nd year onwards, it cost β‚Ή9,600 that is β‚Ή4,800 for each semester!!

So, kab aa rahe ho??
The placement at Jamia pale in comparison to the ones at the top 5 NLUs add to that the recent history of mob attacks in Universities situated in Delhi.
