Type thing. The reason we do it this way is to be absolutely transparent about what our work is and what is already there
so if you copy paste more than a few sentences of thought/argument, use quotes and footnote the ref you would not be caught for plagiarism but of course you can get reduced marks. Its best not to directly copy paste more than one or two sentences and of course you have to put quotes and cite the ref in footnote.
