Also, always prefer a moot that either has reputed partner firms, or clearcut internships as prizes. You don't have financial responsibilities, so cash prizes won't do you much good, but I've seen a fair share of people get T1 internships through such competitions. In that light, the more low-key the moot is, the better it is for you — the Jindal-SAM tech law moot was an easy get that way, for instance, because there was hardly any good competition but networking with & impressing judges from SAM got people internships.
Overall, as a "seasoned mooter" with multiple international moot wins, I can comfortably say that moots don't have any inherent value and don't independently add too much to your CV unless you have the grades
