Well, people who have to earn a living and pay off education loans etc. tend to be just that teeny-tiny bit interested in getting a job. Clearly, based on your comments, NLSIU kids have sufficient privilege not to have to worry about such things.
This question is like asking whether Harvard has good placements in the US or Oxford has good placements in the UK. Duh... OBVIOUSLY YES!!! NLSIU has been the #1 law school in India for the past 30 years.
They haven't had impressive corporate placements, mostly research and think tank and social services/ civil services stuff, some upper tier 2 NLUs are doing better at that
NLSIU has not been "number one" in foreign firm placements for several years now. Nor does McKinsey recruit from them every year, not that it is any extraordinary career opportunity for law students in India based on the accounts of those who have worked there. UPSC does not give jobs, students need to crack an exam, with the university name having no role to play in the process. Nor do LLM opportunities come to NLSIU grads only. As for think tank and policy jobs, some of the best-paying positions like those in Vidhi etc. are offered to students from all NLUs including NLSIU.
As a Law Schoolite, I can assure you those are outdated. McKinsey is not a regular Day Zero recruiter - that take 1/2 people every other year. London firms now recruit from colleges all the way down to GNLU. Oxbridge/Ivy LLMs now go to toppers from even tier 3 NLUs. Think-tank/policy jobs have generally been college agnostic.
Having said that, all these opportunities are open to a Law School grad, just that they are also increasingly open to lower ranked NLUs as well.
Those seem fairly general / out of date information. Why hasn't NLS published any recruitment stats for a while? Some other colleges that used to, haven't been either, right?

#1 in placements by McKinsey (possibly the ONLY law school where McKinsey recruits from)
Probably not #1 in Indian law firms placements (as NLSIU students not keen on these jobs)
#1 or #2 in UPSC jobs
#1 in LLM offers in elite law schools
#1 in think tank and policy jobs (which are increasingly the placements of choice)
So pretty good overall.
