Can you please give out some way for a current law student on how do progress making contacts without awkwardness and making it looked fake

Better develop contacts. Everything else is irrelevant here.

Do law firms bothered to check extra curricular certificate of different clubs/ editor or college magzine and small moots.
Should I mention some if i don't have a certificate for the volunteering
