There has to be good stuff out there, it's just harder to find in a greater sea of mediocrity...
I โ–ฎโ–ฎโ–ฎ appreciate your choice in music (though there are some I would pass on) and thank you putting up a list for kids today who are swamped by mediocrity.
Bro said donโ€™t listen to mainstream music then made a recommendation list of mainstream artists from each era.
And donโ€™t tell me that Tame Impala and Arctic Monkeys are not mainstream.
I think it's a testament to the talent of the artists of yesteryear that the mainstream back then was way better than the mainstream we have now. Just saying.
Not just music, everything about todayโ€™s youth trends are depressing.
Movies nowadays suck too. Example: these were the movies nominated for the Best Picture Oscar on 1995:

- Pulp Fiction
- Shashank Redemption
- Forrest Gump
- 4 Weddings and a Funeral

Compare with the woke nonsense churned out these days.
+1 for the Shashank Redemption, sounds like a must-watch! ๐Ÿ˜Ž
I would take modern movies (anything Olivia Colman does, Parasite, et cetera) any day over these four.
Everything about the past decade just sucks bigtime: Beiber, One Direction, Ariana Grande, EDM, K Pop etc.
Go to your room and listen to your Beatles albums repeatedly.
No one wants to listen to you.
That sounds freaking great. The beatles made ageless music that will outlast my life and yours. Whatever mumblecore is came and went without actually making an impact.
Songs by Mohd Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Amit Trivedi, Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Salim Sulaiman, Coke Studio, Avicii, Mike Posner, Ed Sheeran, David Guetta and Dua Lipa.
Have you been on Spotify radio yet? It will help you find some amazing music out there across genres and decades.
You must see Hustle 2.0, the contestants have to write and perform their own songs within a week. The semi-finals will be starting from Saturday, it's genuinely a great show. I've personally added 5-6 songs from the show to my playlist :)
I mean this is part of it. Instead of an earnest authentic response youโ€™ll retreat into an ageist meme. And think yourself superior. Having the last word or a quick response is not the same thing as being substantial or being witty or making a better argument.
Bump. For Gen Y bosses angry with their Gen Z subordinates and looking for an opportunity to rant against them :)
