As far as going to DU is concerned, there are already other threads on this site on exactly the same topic. Go check those out. The answers will be generic and no different. Considering you don't have any preference for either stream, you'd struggle in law. It's quite rigorous at the top NLUs and unless you're fully committed and somewhat emotionally resilient, it's better that you leave and go enjoy the DU "culture" (whatever that means).
Also what is this "NLU" culture? Didn't knew CLAT toppers have a differently made brain, more unique than Einstein's 😳. But again DU is also no easy to get in. I know you are a born genius who can top Harvard but we mortals here strive our lives to be as good as your 0.00001% so forgive us for our sin of committing a punctuation error or leaving NLU.
Secondly, the NLU "culture" varies from NLU to NLU. But by and large, at the top 4-5, it's better than most of DU for actual learning. Less students so more personalised learning and opportunities, better quality control of students, better student-teacher ratio, and overall better graduate outcomes after 5 years. There's drawbacks I'm not going to list out again. Point being, if you want to spend time attending useless college fests in the name of self-discovery and wasting time debating on student politics, go to DU.
We know that you’re drawn to the idea of being a DU student. But I don’t understand why you want to study Econ at either of these places if it doesn’t interest you. Look at other options. What sparks your interest? And why are you at NLUD if you have a great desire to flee.

Going for SRCC or Stephens would be a great choice. If I were in your place, I'd have done that in a heartbeat.
There is no point in doing a 5 year specialised degree with no conviction.
However Stephen's Eco alumni have been a class apart.
In essence though, Law and Economics both open up some similar opportunities. If you can get into the top programmes in these fields then I would suggest Economics. It will be a shorter programme and you'll still have the option to pursue law after that. At the end of a five year integrated law programme it might be too late to switch if you plan to start earning early.
I know it's a old thread but I have a sibling, and similar doubts.
Talking about myself, I am doing Economics at St Stephen's College. Also, I do plan to do a 3 year LLb from Faculty of Law.
I am a bit tensed about my sibling. He is unable to decide what's worth more, NLUD or Economics at Stephen's. He sees me as his ideal, but that's bad honestly.
So, talking in terms of prestige and legacy, what's better, NLUD or Economics at Stephen's? (Also none of us is worried about placements)

I'm not even a law student as a matter of fact. I knew I wouldn't be received well atleast for calling him a reserved candidate, but don't you think the purpose of reservation is to uplift the socially backward and underprivileged students, so how am I wrong asking for the same? Even if the OP is a reserved candidate, it is fair. I never said that it makes him any less competent to be admitted in those universities as long as reservations are legal.
As I stated above, I wouldn't have mind if it were to be any other thread but if someone who couldn't even sincerely write a perfect sentence would ask NLUD, Stephens or SRCC, how could you expect it to be ignored?
