NLUs actprovide a holistic learning experience? Damn I had no idea.
People who are smart can make it anywhere. That doesnโ€™t mean that theyโ€™ve got an educatioon that sets them up for making it. And the definition of โ€œmaking itโ€ can vary. All those things can be true at once.
Yeah bro totally agreed. Fali Nariman and Jethmalani were from NLSIU too right?
And yet all this education is useless for actual practice in 99% cases. In fact, this focus on thinking and philosophy is the reason for the wide gulf between academia and the actual practice of law.
Actual practice is not limited to filing bail applications only. Education is for bigger reasons. One can learn how to draft even after graduation. This is like people whining, why did I have to learn maths in school, since I have got no practical use for it in my daily life.
You argument in favour of NLU education is self-defeating lmao. You argue that people can and have become good lawyers through extensive reading. That I can do from anywhere, thanks to technology. I do not need to attend an NLU for that.
I have heard that beside intellectualism and wokeness, NLUs are help write better than "much law is they actually know." What do you think?
The least you could have done is to have kept your 2 line post error free.
This is possibly the worst sentence I've ever read
Please do not spread lies, many of the constitution drafters were educated in Britain and/or the U.S., who have very different models of legal education.
There's no GLC model. What you're asking for is to directly allow people to give the bar exam and qualify to practice. No studying required.
Historically, NLSIU faculty have been TLCwallahs only. So get off your high horse.
I honestly think GLC grads are better equipped. Join a chamber for 4 years and then we will see who does a better job at analyzing, and treading uncharted territories.
The NLU model is non-practical, excessively theoretical and ultra-woke.
The GLC model focuses on non-political, hands-on practical learning.
JGLS is a mix of the two.
Non-political lmao. Your comment demonstrates exactly why we need NLUs - laws are not sterile texts.
