Goldman Bangalore only does paper pushing work. So, I would suggest that if you're looking for growth in your legal career, don't go there because you won't learn anything. Though, the analyst program looks good!
Law students can apply (simply because it is open to everyone), however there is negligible chance of final selection. Understand that investment banking/wealth management/analytics etc. are heavily in favour of engineering+MBA or econ+stats background students. It is simply the job profile that demands a lot of quant analysis and numeracy - which is usually not observed that much in lawyers. Also, even if you pass the prelim stage/CV round if you have strong academics and batch rank, the interview stage is dominated with real case study scenarios and working out technical solutions across industries. Consulting might be a little less technical hence suited a bit more for lawyers - also as McKinsey and BCG (i am not sure) hired from NLS till a while back. Even that has stopped now, as more and more engineers are directly moving into these positions. Lawyers do bring a lot of analysis and problem solving, but IB/consulting also has a lot of excel-related number donkey work that may not be suited for law grads.
