Not at all. No one cares about CLAT ranks once you enter law school and anyway, NRI sponsored students are often toppers of batches. The skills needed to do well in CLAT are very different from the skills needed in law school. Doing well at extra-curriculars and academics in law school requires good written and spoken English skills. NRI sponsored kids come from privileged backgrounds and fancy schools so they already have these skills.
There is SOME judgement from the general list rankers, at least during the first year, when there is nothing else to assess you on but your CLAT rank. After the first year, CLAT rank becomes mostly irrelevant for everyone, so people become more relaxed about it.
OP has raised a good question. In my experience, there is a lot of bitching and backbiting against NRI quota students at NUJS. This is seen as a "donation quota", since none of the students are NRIs. But if you look at the track record of NRI quota students at NUJS, many have done extremely well. To begin with, most of the students are from privileged backgrounds and get internships through contacts. These often translates into jobs, as they have good communication skills. Many NRI quota students have also gone abroad to pursue LLM courses and landed up good jobs thereafter, both in India and abroad. Also, many have done well academically and some have been good mooters. Remember that these students are not dumb. Had there been no affirmative action, they would have made it through the merit list.

Not by professors, most of NRI students in my college are either children of politicians or senior bureaucrats and professors make sure to butter them up. Administration bends over backwards for them and I've never seen anyone mistreat them.. On the contrary.. They seem to prefer socializing only with their fellow NRI students.
NRIs usually form their own small group and do just fine, though the occasional joking around is completely warranted considering that NRIs basically bought their way into the college
No. This doesn’t happen. Some first years are idiots and judge people by clat rank- but after the first term that all goes away. Caste based discrimination is much more pervasive.
If a student takes admission through NRI sponsored category, will he/she/they be discriminated just on the basis of that? If they perform well academically at NLU's will they still have to face exclusion?
