Nope. Having to work for a living is not slavery. It sucks that your work conditions are not what you want. but its not slavery. Slavery is its own beast. It's not this indirect pressure of " do this job to maintain your lifestyle". slavery- is work for ZERO money, backed by the ever-present threat of violence. " Do what I say or we will kill/ mutilate/ torture/rape you". Slavery is not " I will hire you, give you terms, and hold you to them", slavery is " You are not a person, you are a thing that I own and I can do with as I wish to". Actual enslaved people were raped so they could breed more enslaved people, actual enslaved people were tortured and lynched. Your body is still your own. and yes it might be a bad/ selfish/ undesirable choice for you to quit your law firm job, but it is still a viable freaking choice. Don't act like you have to do a law firm job to survive, plenty of people in the world survive and don't do law firm jobs.

Not everything is about you. You don't have the worst lot in life. I get it- law firm work sucks. But slavery is not an abstract concept. It is a real thing. It happened to many many people not very long ago, and it happens to people today as well. This is why no one empathizes with law firm folks- they have no self awareness/ awareness of society. You can whine about your work without calling it slavery. You behave selfishly in not even bothering to understand what someone else has gone through and not even bothering to be respectful in your language and then whine about how no one has sympathy for you? its ridiculous.
