The case in general was so poorly conducted. The judge herself put forward this trial to be made public (Johnny agreed and Amber did not) which has resulted in the circus it is today. The court reporter was seen partying with Depp 5 days before the verdict was released. The jury was obviously influenced by the propaganda that they saw on social media and even otherwise were absolutely incompetent (lack of actually paying attention during the trial, didn't fill the form correctly, barely any deliberation). In fact this case shouldn't have been tried in Virginia at all. There is no basis and the judge's reasoning for the same is pathetic. It's like saying that just because there's a McDonald's outlet in Virginia, therefore it can be tried there. The real reason Virginia was chosen by Depp's team was because it's a state in which domestic abusers are let off easy.
Even if we were to ignore the procedural irregularities, there's loads of evidence against Johnny Depp to prove that he is in fact an abuser. This case is a loss for victims (not just women) and is going to set a dangerous precedent for the future. If despite so much evidence, you still cannot prove abuse then what hope do victims have in the future when going against powerful people. It's going to enforce a culture of silence. Nobody cares about victims anyways, but this is going to make it worse. People going around talking about how he's a victim. He's not. He's so far from it. You want to talk about real victims there are hundreds of other cases but this is not that one.
This is gonna open a bag of worms as you can see former abusers (Depp's friends) are planning on or are already bringing cases against the people who accused them (Marilyn Manson etc.). The model of PR and bots has proven to be successful. Watch them exploit it and try to turn their cases around.
It's disgusting to see how she was treated and years down the line, documentaries are going to release about how she deserved justice, but its gonna be useless then.
This case is going to set a dangerous precedent for the future. - lack of video evidence when getting raped, perpetuation of the myth of "perfect victim", perpetuation of the myth of "mutual abuse", dismissing previous court trials for by saying that it was just one judge (or whatever other bullshit reason they gave), saying that such mean and repulsive texts are just venting (how can you think that its just venting. Even I've vented in the past but it doesn't go beyond saying stupid, idiot. Such repulsive texts are not made by normal people) etc.
Stop watching edited meme clips and actually see the evidence. It's so clear, its a shame she lost. I hope she appeals and wins the case, though I wouldn't blame her if she chooses to take a break from this shit show and spends time recovering.

While it is not right to say the jury wasn't influenced by the consecutively running media trial, the basic role and objective of a trial by jury is for their peers or common people to look at the facts of the case, and being swayed by obvious emotions while examining such circumstances in permissible. Blaming the jury for everything would be totally wrong, was anybody following the case would have arrived at the same conclusions: which is basically why you have people like me and you on the jury.
