Keeping it brief, LI pre-covid was a haven for the Indian law industry. Information was accessible and disseminated through the uniqueness of this platform, in a way which is simply not possible through any other existing platforms. As a member of the said industry, can we get any update as to a timeline of the resumption of reporting and a general sense of liveliness to LI. And if there is no sight of a resumption, tell us the terrible, terrible news.
Kian, as a young lawyer, legallyindia has been insanely useful to understand and navigate the Indian legal industry. While I'm not certain if you're hinting at a return to full-fledged reporting (as I understand that is not the direction you wanted to take LI given the recent change in law) any active role played by you in reviving LI to it's glory days would be welcomed. I hope this site becomes as active as it once was.
LI has let down loyal readers of this site, especially students. Bar & Bench is a big p***y and never covers protests or anti-admin news, so LI was the only recourse students had. Right these stories have no outlet:
- Politics behind NALSAR VC appointment
- RGNUL scam
- Bill in West Bengal making Mamata Banerjee Chancellor of all State universities, removal of NLSIU VC from NUJS GC, filling of nearly 1/3 of the NUJS GC with Trinamool Congress MLA, MPs and open supporters.
Please stop trolling and spreading misinformation. NLSIU VC was never removed from NUJS GC. It was not an ex officio post. Academics are nominated to the position by the Chancellor. Venkatarao was a member of the NUJS EC and GC for a long time even after he ceased to be the VC for example, which means that he was there in his personal capacity and not as NLSIU VC. After his term got over, another academic was nominated to that position.
Kian has some nerve showing up like this randomly. The past 2 years have been very difficult for students: irregular classes, insensitive VCs, corruption in admin etc. You were missing in action when you were needed most.
