They come back with a little fatigue, so they head to Rajiv Gandhi Memorial Hospital from their home in Vijay Lakshmi Pandit marg.
They have to get well soon, they have a sepratist protest to attend at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium organised by the Jawaharlal Lal Nehru University Centre for research on Indira Gandhi Maternity Support Scheme.
Outside the non-existent glitz and the glamour of a few headlines here and there reporting on some antitrust cases here and there, there were a bunch of lawyers that typed away drafts and gloated about being in a practice area that wasn't just mind numbing. They relished it. They craved it. It drove their want to make those tedious documents.
Driving all of this were some basic tools, yet some without which the lawyers would not be able to make their cute little documents. Some might say, the CCI's website was one of these. Easy to use, sensible and not frivolous. Functional. Functional.
However, all good stories involve a villain. This story's villain is a man who wants his face everywhere. Bill boards, TV, newspapers, vaccination certificates. Vaccination certificates. And the villain wasn't content with putting his face on tax payer funded vaccination certificates while in the midst of a pandemic that broke the world as we knew it. No, he wanted the cute little competition lawyers' cute little CCI website. So he went, and took it. Disfigured it. Plastered his face ON BASICALLY THE ENTIRE FRONT PAGE. Changed the entire lay out.
Some might say that it was messaging to certain platforms. Some might say it's the usual narcissism. Whatever it may be, a tragedy has befallen nonetheless.
This is a eulogy to my good friend. It's been a good 4 years. May you rest in peace as i work through the new format of this step child which absolutely could use some of the earlier drop downs.
