True.Local firms are way way better off than Tier1 in Disputes.Tier1 Disputes is mainly clerical given its about chasing senior Counsels and "brief"ing them.
Most are in range of 25K-35K for A0s, a few are 40K, if you join laterally as an A2/A3 they will agree only a marginal hike. The law firm scene in Mumbai is crowded as fuck, there is hige downward pressure on salaries in Litigation.
Little and MV Kini also have the bulk of their work from the Government (both State and Centre) if IIRC.
Heard that Rashmikant took over a chunk of Hariani's work after dissolution. Is that true?
Hariani & Co has dissolved recently. Kane & Co is good but small and almost exclusively IP. Little, Kanga, and MV Kini have been in decline for years if not decades.
Does anyone have any idea about A0 pay scale for these firms?
If one wants to eventually get into counsel practice in Mumbai, should they join a local firm for a few years or a Tier 1 firm?
Do associates get better work involvement at these firms compared to Tier 1 firms? If these firms actually do better work and handle better cases, does that mean that associates are just glorified interns who only research and carry papers?
Which firms out of these pay decently? I am sure none match T1s but do any of them pay a respectable salary?
None of these firms in the list are Tier 1. Mulla, Vashi, Wadia Ghandy, Crawford, Naik Naik, Hariani and Vaish are Tier 2 or 3. The rest would fall outside the Tier classification altogether because they are entirely disputes firms and also entirely confined to Bombay,
Which firms would fall within this handful that you mention?
Why are most of these firms not famous in law school circles? And do they actually have better work than CAM, SAM, Khaitan, AZB etc in Bombay?
Rashmikant & Partners and Federal &Co. are the gold standard for Bombay litigation.
Which places have the best Disputes work in Mumbai? I have heard that local firms have better work than T1s
