Hi all, currently working with a mid level firm in Mumbai. Wanted to know if Delhi T1 are better or Mumbai T1 firms are better for disputes practice? Secondly, ive 4 PQE so is it be better to try any other sector like real estate, gen corp ? Suggestions would be welcome from folks who have actually changed sectors.
Delhi for disputes. Going to a T1 from a non-T1 or chamber means your experience will be discounted to some degree, but the firms will claim that they will make it up subsequently by moving you to the correct level as per PQE. If your previous experience is Disputes then I suggest you stay with Disputes or max RE as Corp will be a steep learning curve IMHO.
If you've done disputes for past 4 years, its better to stick to disputes and more so in the city that you've practiced in. It would be tough to transition to transactional work (corp etc) after 4 years. Why not just try t1/t2 disputes teams in Mumbai and delhi? people make this change all the time
