If you choose to take a cab, I'd say you can roughly account for INR 400 per day (INR 200 to and fro). Roughly INR 12,000 per month. Not sure if your firm would comp cabs after 9 (which I'm assuming is the hour that most associates will be in office till, at the least). If this is the case, I think INR 6,000 can be safely accounted for.
If you end up taking the local, it's a fair bit cheaper - a first class pass for a month is INR 600. Add to that the cost of taking a share cab/auto from the station to your office, which would roughly amount to INR 50 as an upper limit. Roughly INR 2,100 per month - a great bargain.
If you buy your own car, I'm not very sure how much petrol, depreciation, EMI, etc would figure into your expenses, so I cant really speak to that.
If you want to take the bus, I have one word of advice for you - Don't :)
taxi (home-station-home; station-office-station;) - around 200-250 per day,
miscellaneous travel around 100 per day.
Somewhere around 7k-9k for decent comfortable travel.
Buses are good in some cases but avoid in general.
The BEST fleet is being gradually upgraded to electric AC buses which are really good and cheap.
