Not ideal but if you are taking a break to figure next steps then I guess quitting without having a plan makes sense - in the end a year or two spent doing nothing makes no difference in the 20-30 years that careers ordinarily last.
If you are really hating your job, please quit. No point making your life miserable. Take a break, think about next steps. I did the same few years back, and ultimately things did work out.
Interview while at a job else the next employer may have a question mark or in some way you will get less salary.
Lots of exceptions including mental health.
It's okay to leave without something in hand. It's not ideal, but if you have some runway built for yourself, then please go for it. There are a LOT of jobs for qualified lawyers in the market and I don't mean just legal jobs. There's many things you can try your hand at.
Leave it, join classes, prepare for judiciary, keep that very law firm in your pocket.
Going through similar situations, planning to quit just after 2 months without any offers, will there be other opportunities considering market conditions since I am looking out for in-house roles.
