Moved from a T1 to T3 recently. I get major anxiety attacks every Monday morning - it is because I hate the job, hate the practise area or the fact that I am burnt out. I feel like not doing anything the whole day, just want to sleep. I know I might be depressed, but I really don't understand how to make it better. I am already taking therapy.. but the dread for this job is unending.
I always thought the reason was T1 life, but this relaxed T3 life (where I get my weekends)and end work by 10pm does not seem to make anything better. Will moving to an in-house role help or all of this is happening because I don't like law?
Please advise if you've gone through anything similar or are in an in-house role where you don't like the law, but its bearable?
The sheer need to have enough money to pay the kids' fees, and the smiles when you got home with a chocolate / ice cream will get you chasing that paper.
Or buy a new car/flat. Those EMIs should get you out of your bed every morning.
Or YOLO, and buy a Hayabusa. If the fuel costs and the EMIs don't kill you, a sub 3 second 0-100 time, and a top speed of 300 plus certainly will.
It does get better over 5-6 years of experience, which is when you would have seen that everything was hunky dory and you will gain confidence over what you are doing.
Also, one way to improve your anxiety would be to gain full awareness of what you are doing at work. If you could just read on the legal literature regarding what you do and confirm for yourself, that what you've been doing is perfectly aligned with the law, then you should be good.
Having said that an in-house role can work out for the better because the dynamics are different.
