Yes, people in NLUO are in general good in corp law and this is because there is a culture which is passed on to the newer batches. Moreover, there is a strong mooting culture in NLUO. To find experienced good mooters in NLUO is not a difficult task. Every third person would know fair enough mooting. Further, NLUO was semi-finalist in Vis Vienna, Jessup ad other national and international moots. A good enough number of people end up getting placed in their 4th year itself.
Rubbish. There isn't any particular senior helping. Instead, this is possible owing to many seniors and alumnis coming together to help the moot participants in their competition. All this, owing to an established, culture.
Moral of the story: If students are sincere and hardworking, then factors like bad location/infra/admin/faculty do not matter. The students from "privileged" law schools should introspect and learn to be more like NLUO students, who do not whine but rather make the most of what they have.
P.S. This is not to say that one should not complain against corrupt admin or bad faculty, but rather one should improve wherever one can.
There are 3 people from 5 batches who participated in the moot. If they are good, then they will land the necessary internships and jobs, as several others from NLUO have done in the past. That does not reflect the overall recruiter perception of the university.
They had a similar run of consistency at Jessup a few years back. If Iām not wrong they made it to the world knockouts a couple of times with that one team.
NLUO again ended up in finals of NUJS HSF Corp Law Moot. For the past 4 years, NLUO was in finals thrice. Are they guys too good at corp law? Because we now hardly see them doing good in other moots, except their streaks of best memo. And if they are too good at corp law, then why law firms are still not recognising the merit there?
