Really enjoyed interning at a well-known IPR boutique firm, the work related to IP Litigation was very engaging. Not sure about how these firms pay, give PPOs etc. Please help if you have any information about the following for Anand & Anand, Saikrishna & Associates, Lall&Sethi, Singh & Singh:
1. Salaries and growth 2. Number of internshiphs/ minimum duration of months and other process to be eligible for and to secure a PPO 3. Work Culture 4. Any recommendations for similiar firms, or lawyers in this field.
I've interned at Saikrishna so I can tell you that PPOs are not offered here. Instead do 2 internships strategically such that one is in your fourth and other one is when you're nearing the end of your final year. Most of the IP firms follow this rule for hiring. As far as pay is concerned it can range from 40-60k per month. Some good firms for IP Litigation are RNA IP ATTORNEYS, Inttl Advocare and Remfry and Sagar.
Hi, I have heard that the work culture is very pathetic there. Is it because Anand and Anand is as tiring as any tier-1 firm. What is the growth there?
1. Poor, to say the least. Growth is average in terms of retainer fee increase. 40-50k is the norm at a tier 1 IP firm. If you manage a full service tier one like KCO - 65-70k is the starting pay.
2. Never heard of an IP PPO - couple of strategically timed internships should do it.
3. Completely depends on the place youβre at / seniors etc. IP litigation can be fun but is very demanding. Prosecution is a lot easier and lighter.
4. Delhi - Anand, Remfry, Mason Mumbai - KCO, WH Kane Chennai - Selvam Kolkata - S. Majumdar
what would you mean by strategically timed internships? Not able to decide in which breaks of my fourth and fifth year/ duration I should look to intern for. If you have anything I should keep in mind to plan appropriately please?
Join Anand litigation at your own peril. Ask anyone who is in the Delhi ip scene and they will tell you the firm is in a rapid downward decline. The standards have dropped, the seniors there mostly are lazy/not good enough and the main man just seems to be losing the plot in the face of too many unnecessary distractions. Sai, remfry, Mason, even Rahul Chaudhary, alg are better bets.
Hi please help me by throwing some light on how is pay and life as fresher advocate in ip litigation (TM) in top firms of Delhi like intll advocare, lall and sethi, anand and others....

You should not be in a law firm, let alone A1. Your attitude is like SBI Sarkari Babu.
But I empathasize with you, just tells me how you are being mentored in law firm.
