Is it that easy in a L&E team? Is it possible to shift? How is the attrition rate, future prospects and hiring trends?
Something being subjective and more likely to be challenged by authorities (and consequently more "risky" to advice on) doesn't inherently make it more intellectual or challenging.
What I will admit is that there are some really shitty tax judgements out there that are impossible to understand because they make zero sense.
However, admitted, tax is also definitely not for the dumb. The dumb will die a painful death.

Oh, and in case you're passionate about social justice, then human rights work - both Indian & int'l - definitely requires a lot more of the character than any out of the world legal acumen etc.
This team also has very low amount of work hours apart from work which only requires brain of a squirrel.
