Hi, two days back Prof. Ved Kumari was in Hyderabad and along with nalsar VC and faculties met Chief justice and other judges. Rumour has it that she is next VC to nalsar and is coming from the same route as Faizan i.e. NLU orissa..
She operates as a complete autocrat, stubborn like you've never have seen before. Doesn't take the advice of any of the other admin members. I hear that a lot of senior teachers are upset with her behaviour and the junior ones cower away and try to remain in her good graces. Her attitude towards students and their grievances is pathetic.
This probably wouldn't be too terrible if she knew what she was doing. Unfortunately, she has no idea how NLUs work, and takes decisions that are completely bizzare and arbitrary.
She was at nalsar for a General Council meeting, since she is a member of the Nalsar GC. There she met the Chancellor who presides over the GC meetings. The news of she being next VC is unsubstantiated.

She was invited to a dinner to welcome the new High Court Chief Justice as a matter of courtesy since she was in the city. As far as the VC selection is concerned, nothing was discussed in the recent meetings of the NALSAR Governing Bodies (EC, GC,). Judging by the number of Youtube videos that Dr. Faizan Mustafa is making in praise of CJI N.V. Ramana, he seems set to secure a third term as NALSAR VC.
NLUO people keep crying about their VCs. They were adamant for removing SKD, and were happy when he left for NLUD. NLUO People kept sharing memes that SKD will screw NLUD, but NLUD saw nothing of that sort. Now they are again crying about Prof. Ved and want her to leave. But again it is the NLUO which will suffer. The question is, what quality NLUO people want in a VC? The pace NLUO started to gain from 2018 is now decreasing rapidly due frequent change of VCs, which is apparent from the fact that hardly 10-12 have been placed till now from 2022 batch. NLUO's name and fame in mooting arena is also going down the drain, with no major wins and sub-par teams at big moots like Tankha, NLSTIAM, BR Sawhney, NUJS-HSF.
Ved Kumari has ruined the culture at NLUO. She has improved the administrative efficiency of the college. But at the same time her strict policies regarding academics and extended class hours till evenings has made it more like a day college. Student hardly find time anymore to do anything except academics. Moot culture has literally disappeared with students not even signing up for big moots. SKD had a lenient academic curriculum which increased NLUO's extra-curricular achievements but his administrative skills were akin to a sarkari office slowed down by 10. Both have their downsides and upsides.
