When you go for an internship in big cities like Bombay/ Delhi, instead of opting for PGs, stay in Zolo hostel type places where they have 100 bunk beds in one large room. You’ll make more friends in a month than you’ve made in 5 years.
Make friends with your phone. But seriously: not easy. Also most people anyway post college make friends at work and you happen to be a lawyer so you het lawyers. A doctor gets doctor friends. Reconnect with school friends.
I swear I have the same issue. After law school I just cannot connect with other people. I just find their perspective to be very limited and less informed. Always a fish out of water in conversations and small talk... not because I don't have anything to say, but because they won't understand the perspective we are taking. I'm not being presumptuous. I'm just being brutally honest.
Go out on holidays (which is 10 days out of 365 in T1s) instead of nutting to your fav porno or sulking tears on Netflix. Go out explore the world. Talk and they'll talk back, where human school law school?
This is a genuine question that seems quite concerning to me. I am currently in my ninth semester. Apart from a few friends from school, all of my friends are from my own college, i.e., lawyers. Next year, I will start working at a T1 law firm and will only interact with lawyers at work. The thing that worries me is that there is no organic way to meet new people and make friends outside the legal circle. As much as I love my friends, I do feel that it makes my perspective quite limited. I would love to get a chance to engage with people from various backgrounds. However, apart from dating apps, there doesn't seem to be a way to do this.
