Projects team could do a variety of work in the Projects, Energy & Infrastructure space.
M&A, B&F, DCM, Development and advisory, disputes etc. Some firms with this practice don't do any M&A etc., which is done by the corp teams (e.g. Trilegal).
It's an interesting practice with lots of regulatory advisory and contract work. With increased M&A activity most firms with this specialised practice are doing pretty well.
Definitely CAM - people are generally sweet, even when they are constantly dying with work - which I would say is an art in itself.
They're also really smart and have it in themselves to train the juniors properly. Plus, as a junior, you'll get to do some good quality work from the beginning itself, without much of micro management.
Needless to say, CAM PF has the best clients and projects to work on. So the experience is really something to take forward.
CAM projects team does top-quality work and has the best minds in the practice area. It is one such area where the entire leadership and most PAs are homegrown. The practice group is close-knit and people usually work across teams for different partners within the area. Though it gets hectic (given the nature of work), most people in PF are very supportive and understanding of others' space/ needs. Love the work and people in the practice area (minus the fact that you'll have to put in a long slog compared to other practices).
Contract, procurement, financing instruments, both debt and equity, and occasional additional regulatory compliance depending on the nature of the project.
Go to CAM. Best projects team hands down. Ignore the CAM bashing as most of what it is about, even if true, wont bother you atleast for the next 4-5 years.
Laws- contract act, sale of goods, transfer of property, constitution, admin law, rbi/fema. Sectoral legislations and regs- ports/oil and gas/renewable energy and everything else.
To my understanding the projects team at cam does everything infra- pure projects, PF, investments and all. You wont get bored for sure.
I have developed interest in Projects practice and would like to intern more in the same area. Please mention some good Projects Team which also hires frequently (I am in my 5th Year). This would be of great help.
