Last to last year, the combination matter award for India went to Peugeut / Fiat deal. Looking at the CCI order, it was a very easy transaction - parties hardly had any market shares - could very well have been a green channel. Similarly, lawyers got awarded for leniency matters which are no brainer and whose outcome are known beforehand. Does the GCR really recognise meritocracy or simply looks at big names? How much money is involved to get a GCR award?
