When we talk about working hours at law firm, a fairly reasonable reply we get is that working hours depend on practice areas, team and the firm.

While it is quite obvious that there will rarely any field which lets you go home a 7pm or so, but I'd really appreciate if we can discuss what are some of the busiest practice areas in a law firm and at the same time which are the least tensed (chill) practice areas which don't pull the life out of you.

I'd also like to know more about how seasonal work affect practice areas.

Thanks!
Employment Teams have totally chilled** out hours and work deadlines. Work is also easy, not complicated.

Compared to real corporate law firm teams like GenCorp/Bankruptcy/Securities. ****

But the problem of joining this team is that - your growth is limited. You cannot charge the same insane bills outside a Tier 1 law firm because nobody will pay you that much for this work. You are just doing ancillary work; you don't add much value.
Really depends on the team you work with. It can be busy but hardly as bad as transactional practice.
