Hi - any tips on how to switch from a tier one job to a consultancy firm (like McKenzie, BCG etc)? I am presently working in a competition law team in one of the tier one law firms.

Does law firm experience have any advantage in a consultants job? Do any of the consulting firms hire lawyers without an MBA? Also, how is the life of a consultant?
In India it next to impossible to get into MBB /Tier 2 Consulting as a Corporate lawyer (Generalist position) without doing an MBA from IIM/ISB , You may have some luck with the Big4 tho.
You stand a better chance of being part of in-house strategy department. The big boys of consulting only look at resumes from traditional consulting background - engineering from top schools, CAs, MBAs. If you were from a national law school, then they may have considered you for entry level analyst position (but this used to be back in 2012/13/14) don’t know if that still continues. But try in house first as they sometimes are more willing to give a change to a dark horse!
