Engineering fresher salaries have increased significantly in last 1 year. Even CA with multiple attempts who started with a salary of 6lpa-8lpa are easily starting at 12-13 lpa. However salaries for law grads seem to have not improved much.
It’s a major delusion with regards to engineering students only few companies give a good package major engineering students are still jobless. With CA only big 4 have a good package that also if one clears CA within a span of 4 years. Not saying that law grads are paid a lot. But giving you a general picture.
Yep. Thanks to Modiji's digital India and Ambani's Jio which made internet so cheap and finance apps ubiquitous - that software engineers and CAs are in demand. Meanwhile lawyers struggle with basic english.

An engineer from any private college in India can earn 30,000 a month by working at a TCS/Infosys (the standard mass recruiting salary is also moving from 3 LPA to 6 LPA if recent placement trend are an indicator).
Some law students joining litigation don't even make 5000 a month because of some weird notion 'you're just learning'. Every single fresher in every single profession learns in their first few years at their job. That doesn't mean they don't get paid a livable salary. Law firms and legal seniors need to be named and shamed on this practice. It's an outright exploitation in the name of tradition.
So no, engineering and chartered accountancy in India, however much on the decline, is still a more financially well-off choice for any random person.
A friend who started his edu tech startup in 2019, without any funding, used to give 12 lakhs to freshers from tier 2 colleges. After one year, they left because they were getting 18 somewhere else. This friend had to increase his budget to give salary to employees in order to retain them
