I guess it's just a little overwhelming especially for ppl who haven't directly worked with partners/senior people before. The closest analogy to what OP experienced is I guess your School Principal pulling you up out of the blue as opposed to a Teacher doing so
Dont roll down anything. As you said, its a boutique and law shop owners should not matter.
I really wanna know what happened after this. Can the op please provide an update? or am i asking for too much lol
Bhai, kya hogaya if he told you to roll down the sleeves?
totally offtopic - in one of the JD's for an inhouse position i did see that your prospective employers looks for the "roll up the sleeves" attitude. what does that even mean?
roll up your sleeves, pull up your socks and get your feet wet !
He is just teaching you some dressing sense kid!
Or if you are still one of those who is wearing brown belt with unpolished tan shoes, ill ironed casual shirts?

Go spend some money on yourselves rather on Bira strong! learn basics
At k law all of us girls are called and lectured on how to dress. Like we are kids
What's the big deal with the partner telling you roll down your sleeves? Why do the kids of this generation get offended with each and everything?
