Leave alone the ethics of it: Mahesh Jethmalani not invited by the organisers (NewsX and the Sunday Guardian Foundation) and this seems to have been done without involving him or his family. But what qualifies Mahua to give the lecture? If at all an opposition party politician had to be invited to give the lecture, why not AM Singhvi, Kapil Sibal, Chidambaram, Tankha or even Owaisi, who are all lawyers? Among non-lawyers, why not Tharoor, Brinda Karat, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Naveen Patnaik etc?
Mahua is not a lawyer. She is merely a first-time MP famous only because of pedestrian rants in Parliament of the level of Class 7 school debates . Her conduct is also questionable. She filed a frivolous case against Babul Supriyo for outraging her modesty when he asked her on a TV show "Mahua are you on Mahua"? but yesterday she tweets and congratulates him for joining TMC! She also threw a paper ball at the speaker and kicked a lady countable from Assam at the airport (all captured on camera: see google).
This just shows that anyone who is media savvy and vocal is considered a "good" politician in India, instead of someone who is genuinely very experienced and ethical. A sad reflection of the shallow celebrity and social media culture of today. Might as well invite Nicki Minaj to give the next lecture.

What's wrong in how she chooses to live her personal life? Is that all the RW can do? Even the other day they trolled Nusrat Jahan for having a baby out of wedlock and circulated the birth certificate, which they perhaps got by bribing the clerical hospital staff (height of cheapness by BJP IT cell).
Stop this filth and focus on issues. If you need to criticise Mahua Moitra and Nusrat Jahan do it on the basis of issues.
Now let us contrast that with Modi, who first denied he had wife and now says he does have a wife. But he is actually separated from her and she lives in small room, receiving no financial help from him.
This actually brings out the attitudes of the RW towards women. Women who divorce and then date are seen in negative light, because women are considered to be submissive by them. In Modi's case, it's considered all right to treat a wife like that, without giving her alimony etc.
