Yes, but Vans and Aeropostale are cool whereas the Nike is just cringe and wannabe. I'd stay away from people who wear Nike. Also, Levi's is now made in India and pretty downmarket.
In NLSIU there was a (now very famous alum) whose family were HNIs, who wore random no brand barely holding up pyjamas, cheap to shirts with holes etc while but having everything apple and spending every holiday in NA/EU. So fashion means little.
GLC - H&M, Colaba Causeway stuff, Hill road maybe, Zara, joggers and not the nice ones were big. Michael Kors, Coach, Accessorize, Aldo, as well as trinkets from the local. Aero, AnF, Gap not too common among women, all seemed to prefer fast fashion. Plenty of Lifestyle deals. Occasionally seen some sport Forever New sorts, but not really. Lots of jhola girls and boys pretending not to be loaded because they’re in their debate phase as well. Many very poorly dressed too. Great disparity in dressing styles reflecting varied backgrounds. Some wore pretty, delicate jewellery, others didn’t bother to bathe (or some did both, depending on the time of year). Quite a few thrifted, boutique girls as well, not too many such boys. LV, Gucci, YSL bags (knock offs mostly) occasionally spotted. Occasional flashy Jai Hind sorts also observed.
Even poor kids in GLC's and NLU's have this - Levi, Pepi etc. Even they can afford.
Jindal - probably Sabyasachi (on small occasions) BURBERRY, SUPREME regular days. Hermes - For moot courts.
Jimmy Choo - Hostel Bathroom Slipper & NIKE Air & New Balance for fun sports.
Last but not least - Ralph Lauren Handkerchief will be there with every student after opening, so that they can sneeze and say - pardon me.
