The fact that the Taliban was able to run through the country over a few weeks was because the Taliban actually has a large and legitimate following in Afghanistan, especially amongst the rural and the poor.
Hence Taliban is actually not a foreign force but an ideology to which a large part of Afghanistan subscribes to.
Additionally, it is in the bigger cities and the middle class/upper middle class who have always been the target of the Taliban and who gained the most over the past two decades.
These are the same people who are trying to flee because the retribution by Taliban would be directed against them.
For the rural and poor, Ashraf Gani and his corruption made their lives as miserable as they would be under the Taliban rule.
About America, well the less said the better. They just don't have the stomach or the fight to be the pre-eminent power in the world and now the secret is out there for everyone to see.
About the world, well it's always been hypocritical. We have molly coddled the Saudi's for years, even though the Taliban are nothing more than a cruder form of the Al-Saud form of governance and justice.
The only thing is that the Saudi's are rich and hence we kept our mouths shut and the Taliban are poor so we cry foul.
What would be interesting is to see how India reacts. Will we claim our high horse moral stand or actually work with the cards that are dealt to us.
An Afghanistan/Pakistan/China nexus is absolutely catastrophic for us.
The problem and Biden's boon is that Trump had such extreme rhetoric and unreasoned / unpredictable policies / diplomacy that everyone else, however bad or sleepy, seems reasonable and a relief by comparison.
Second, you can bet that Trump would have also pulled out of Afghanistan in the second term: he would have been relying on the same flawed / optimistic US intelligence that everything on the ground was fine and the Afghanistan state could stand on its own, and by 'ending the war', would have wanted a feather to put in his cap as much as Biden.
Biden has been mollycoddled ever since he came to power. He has been worse than Trump in almost every aspect.
He is following Trump's policies to the T despite criticising them while on the race to White House. He is senile, and the same is clearly evident from the major goof ups that occur whenever he comes before a mic.
For some reason, almost the entirety of American media and the Republican haters across the world, especially in India (who have no idea about politics in India) have given a rope to Biden which is longer than any extended to any former president.
Trump and Biden are the same side of evil, but there is absolutely no reason as to why Biden is not being given the same treatment.
In fact, biden has been worse. By a sudden pullout ignoring all ground realities, it has left millions in lurch who have no idea about what to do. Look at what is happening in Kabul. It is a shame!!
Just because a post calls out the Libbie idiots or the suitably woke'ed ignoramus lot, it is not trollish. Yes, if the post has nothing to do with law or law firms, it is surely trollish. So on the latter account the post is trollish.

To everyone who thinks that 'lib' or 'liberal' is an insult : the opposite of liberal is illiberal. So if you are opposed to the liberal ideology, then you're an illiberal (not 'conservative', independent of what your Twitter/ Whatsapp RW ideologues may fancy calling themselves). That's how language works. Hope you realize who the illiberals are in the Afghanistan context. But let me spell it out for the narrow minded (another opposite of 'liberal') : it is the Taliban.
