This is disgusting. You are wasting a seat plus taxpayer-subsidised fee. Once you get into an NLU just stick with it instead of vacating your seat after a year and going to a higher ranked one.

The system isn't cruel. It's a supply-demand equation.

NLUs are ridiculously expensive, whatever little subsidy goes, usually goes into "developing infrastructure" or some thing like that. State governments hardly care about NLUs. Most, of these universities run on student fees. Now since the fees are soo high, the person is well-within their right to decide to go to a place of their choice, where they get the return of investment that they want.

NLUs like RMLNLU have lower fees because of the funding from the state.
