I'll be joining an LL.B. programme this fall, and was wondering if someone could guide me for an internship in the winter of 2021. As the time period for my programme is compressed when compared to the 5-year course, I am looking to engage in internships from the first winter break itself. I want to intern in Delhi, preferably under an advocate whose work revolves around the district courts and the Delhi High Court. However, I do realise that the courses covered in my first semester will only be basic substantive law subjects such as Contracts 1; Family Law 1; Law of Crimes; Torts; Legal Methods. Please suggest an advocate in whose chambers I would be a good fit, and who would delegate tasks to interns in a manner that they actually learn something meaningful. If possible, could you also let me know when I should ideally start applying for internships if I want to intern in the winter of 2021?
My background if it helps: Top ranker in international relations undergrad from a private university. Have engaged in academic writing extensively (however I do recognise that legal drafting skills are perhaps a different skill-set altogether).
P.S.: How should I factor in the possibility that courts may remain virtual and may not open for regular physical proceedings?
