I'm in litigation.
But to understand why litigation even at entry-level would be more satisfying, you only need to join a corporate law team as a first-year associate. Cheers!
I think the only thing I can say for sure is that it is less stressful and less pressure. Hours continue to be long but people are generally more understanding and less competitive. The whole thing about doing impactful/meaningful work I am not really feeling. Conversely, each passing month I seem to get more and more disillusioned with the court system.
On a slightly digressive note for the benefit of people still in law school, some people genuinely do not mind a corp job. And they'll mostly tend to put it to their persistence while others just see them as sell-outs. All this is so overly convenient. I know friends who always hated courts. Other friends hated law firms.
I guess it's just a feeling in your bones without any grounding really. Maybe a little cynical but this whole career thing seems to be about finding what will disillusion you less.
