Work culture would depend HEAVILY on whether it’s Mumbai or Delhi. Different implications for all these firms.
Which one would be the better option generally?
How is S&R placed? Is the team well structured across their offices or no separate vertical?
SAM has the most number of partners lol why would your chances be low? Additionally does one decide their career on the prospects of being able to make partner?
Trilegal's competition work is generally outsourced to senior advocates/external counsel. Your job would mainly be clerical / secretarial.
SAM's partners are 100% homegrown, AZB hired 2 out of 4 as partner, TL hired 2 out of 3 as partner. Unless you're a partner looking to move, your chances are better at SAM than anywhere else.
Imo, BS rankings.CAM is not in the Top5 space of competition law.Khairan is probably number 4 with respect to retention, not a no 2.
You are telling me Khaitan has more matters than Trilegal?
I hear Anshuman Sakle's team is an amazing team to work with, in terms of work and he's also a great boss/mentor.
PQE 8 antitrust lawyer just picked the two firms that undercut the competition and let junior associates handle cases without supervision or training and called it work culture. lol.
I interned with the competition team at L&L, they seemed like a fun and smart group to work with.
Major partners in tier I firms are Bombay based. Enforcement while traditionally done by Delhi teams is now increasingly common with the Bombay bunch. Pick your partner, rest will follow.
What about TTA, Chandhiok & Mahajan and Gaggar?
How is the competition practice at KCO Mumbai vs Delhi?
The market leading practice is the one at SAM Delhi. Shroff-Chopra leads, but Yaman is one of the best execution partners. Second would be (might sound controversial) Nisha Kaur Uberoi at Trilegal.
I am not a fan. Not of the practice or any comp lawyer.

I am a corp SA. I hear people telling me Nisha delivers. Also- her juniors make a lot of money. A Lot.
They keep busy and are good. The problem with azb is not their team but the zee

Heard Lakshikumaran’s Competition team to be rising up charts
Lakshmikumaran is the best in business. They are number 1 in competition law, fintech, data protection and privacy, mergers and acquisitions and corporate transactions. They are the very very best. So I agree they are off the charts.
Tell me you have a [...] for lks without telling me you have a [...] for lks
I have interned with the LKS competition team. They are very efficient, and don't treat you like a slave. They are a respectable bunch and they genuinely try to mentor their associates. But the pay might be less compared to tier 1 firms
