Maybe because of the bleeding of the team in terms of resources? Heard that a lot of associates have left the Corp team at KCO Delhi in the last few months and there are a handful left only. The staffing partners are trying to reach out to the associates left and trying to understand the issues (read: pressure) faced by associates. Partners expect associates to work 24x7 on weekends too with even a senior partner troubling the associates with his early morning 6-7 AM calls for work. Horrible!

To add, promotions are non-transparent and non-merit based on the whims and fancies of staffing partners and a certain Senior Partner. Last year, retainers of SA+ were also reduced. Unsure if this was the case in Delhi Corporate team or generally at Kco.
Word of advice to KCo Corp staffing partners: Try to retain the associates who’re left in the team. I’ve heard that many recent lateral hires at associate levels have already started applying to other places. Other law firms are taking the advantage of poaching people out of Kco delhi.
2. FY 2021-22 saw bumper promotions. Almost all who were eligible were promoted.
3. Bonus comes on time...ALWAYS. Either on 31 March, or max by April first week.
4. We received increments for FY 2021-22 increments Jan 2021 onwards - for first 9 months, one time accruals were given. Net net - increments have been given.
5. That senior partner being talked about above. He starts his day early...9-9:30 onwards (and not 6/7 am above). And he is de facto head of the Delhi corp team of 80+ lawyers ...started the team from almost scratch with another senior partner....obviously there is work pressure and client expectations (and on unfortunate days it trickles down on the junior). Certainly nowhere close to as bad as it is told.
6. Physical office opening has been deferred indefinitely. They messed up a couple of weeks back (by announcing reopening of offices)...but that has now been rectified.
7. Work is good quality. Decent deals/transactions. The clientele is good.
8. Beautiflllllll new office at Max Towers.
9. Pool system has its pluses and minuses.
10. Salary (monthly + bonus) is top of the market (slightly less than Trilegal perhaps). At all levels.
Conclusion: Someone who is looking to join the team at Khaitan Noida Corp - please speak to a couple of people working in the team and then decide (instead of relying blindly on LI comments).
This senior partner is the reason the firm is where it is and is one of the nicest guys to work with. Anything needed during the pandemic from oxygen, medicines, hospital beds etc, this was the man who was up till 2-3 am and was arranging all this despite himself managing clients, own family and multiple other things. You will never hear that and him speaking about this, that is class. Yes, he works a lot but never results in pushing associates to the brink. He actually works more with junior partners and principal associates, he does not work with associates directly being the de facto boss.
So really don’t understand where Associatea leaving because of him has come up? He’s a gem to work for.
Surprising to note in the B&F team is that even PA/SA have left and the team is only left with few people at the senior level. This is the team against whom the article link above was about. The [...] are the persons who cold call at 3 am and then vanish quicker than flash or batman, only to come hours later to ask for the document.
Also, the reason that partners want to go back to office in the middle of the pandemic is because they need associates as goats to be vented at since they can’t do that on their own family members! This is such a pathetic culture! Shame! Covidiots.
Yes, he actually puts in more hours than an associate even I think and is known to handle multiple matters at once but never has he been the cause of anyone’s woes.

Am I correct to assume the above? Or will I be making a blunder, entering into a place with mediocre people and ending up course correcting mediocre people, but losing my skills/ valuable time. Also, mediocre people eventually get good at stealing credit - because they cant raise their work standard. I am not an idiot/ pushover, but I am not someone who is constantly looking over his back for credit stealers.
Guide me KCO people, please. Looking for honest/ clear advice.
