Not talking about the ones that get through from reservations.
This is a BS argument. The average senior level government employee (SEBI Officers, IRS etc) are 100% more competent and capable than the average law firm or consulting guy.
It's the same in US & China. But many leave Government jobs there for BigLaw practice.
Most of the law firms in my experience - in Delhi at least - are not really good at handling white collar crimes (or anything from criminal law for that matter). It's better to join a litigating lawyer and learn there.
Naah. Indian Firms mainly someone from Disputes team will do WCC work. Any other country, you will see lead former Federal Prosecutors or ones with Government experience doing it.
You seem to have good insight on WCC work. Could you explain to someone who wants to pursue this field as to what all should be learnt and read for gaining some useful knowledge? (basically how to crack the interview)
The entire LKS tax partnerships are retired/volt. retd governmental officers. So, there is some precedence in India.
