Nice due diligence but the centre is more than active. Some students just got China India Visiting Scholars (CIVS) Fellowship for a long academic exchange (but at different Chinese and asian universities). This was facilitated by Center for India China Studies (CICS).

Infact we got this mail today for a talk by the Chinese mail on last Tuesday about a talk we have tomorrow

“ Dear All,

Hope all of you are fine. This is to let you know that Chinese Ambassador Mr. Sun Weidong is going to deliver a lecture around the topic of youth and India-China relations on next Monday. If any of you are interested in the participation please let me know by 3:00pm today.”

Pandemic has surely affected things a bit but I don’t think there’s any other factor involved

Hmm...3 remarks censored on a thread about China. #DemocracyIsAlive.
Bumping this in light of the Newsclick controversy and the global backlash against Xi Jinping. According to the website, no event has taken place since 25 November 2021 and the annual India-China conference has not taken place after November 2019.

Is the centre still active? Curiously, the then MoS external affairs minister was chief guest at the India-China conference, which was pre-Covid. It shows just how much has changed! In fact, now that the BJP is accusing the opposition of being Chinese stooges, the opposition can point to the 2019 conference and ask why the Modi government sent a minister there!
