Having an alumnus as VC has a direct bearing on faculty recruitment, for one. Sudhir's tenure as short as it is, has already proven this.
The only reason Sudhir was even eligible to head NLS at such a young age was due to intervention by a TLC VC! Plenty of TLC VCs were able to attract great faculty without obsessing over the candidate's alma maters.
This is a stupid question, but could someone please tell me what TLC stands for? It's thrown around a lot on legally india and it's never spelled out.
TLC - Traditional Law College
A term invented by few morons to make them feel special
Not plenty. Otherwise most NLUs in the country would have had excellent faculty today.
No please Sudhir has demonstrated adequately that being an NLU alum doesn't make one a good administrator. Let's not forget that even as a professor of constitutional law, his first major decision was struck by a court for being unconstitutional.
Sudhir qualified the UGC norms for a VC, courtesy MP Singh's acceleration of his career. He also had admin xp at APU. Srividhya did neither.
