Is there anyone who in recent times has moved to work in Singapore or Dubai (law firm or in-house), without any foreign qualification, if yes, can you please throw some light on how to go about it. Thanks!
Move to Singapore is possible if you do capital markets. Don't think India qualified lawyers are recruited for any other practice area.
Why are India qualified lawyers recruited specifically for capital markets?
What about in house roles there? Or even think tanks?
Sayak from azb is moving to Singapore in corporate practice and he has no foreign qualification - hence above comment is incorrect that only cap market lawyers can move
Yes, that is as a partner. What about moving at mid level? Do these firms entertain applications through consultants/ how does it work?
Hey,
Harshita Khurana (ex KCo) moved to Jones Day, Singapore- she was an SA in KCo.

You can reach out to her to get some cues.
Agreed, but it is extremely rare. The comment above made was after several months of dicussions with international recruiters like Hays Taylor Root, Marsden and others.
Lots of opportunities in the construction sector, Indians are always welcome.
Yes. Both an LLM and PhD helps, especially if it's from NUS, and choose a field like IPR.
what? i met a recruiter and she specifically said that IPR is non existent in NUS. please dont spread mis information and if you have info give some logic behind it?
Then ask your so called "recruiter" which other legal field is good in NUS ? Apart from IPR and arbitration, there is no noteworthy branch for LLM in NUS. I'm an alumna, thus the information.
Get into NUS and easily get placed. Getting into NUS is the hard part, especially since they've curtailed Indians.
can we connect on telegram or any other platform that works for you? would love to know more about how to proceed further.
in continuation of my previous comment- the info i got was that there arent legal vacancies in IP in SG. my bad i did not mean NUS. i meant SG in general. sorry
Can india qualified lawyers move to UAE/Singapore for in house roles?
What's the scope for in house lawyers in the UAE? On linkedin I have come across some india qualified in house lawyers who have moved to Dubai, especially those working in energy/projects.
