If ease of access is the only reason, there could have been a common mess com comprising both girls and boys which provides for the same quality of food and variety of dishes in both the hostels, and just different locations for distribution of food, i.e., - the girls' mess and the boys' mess.
If it had truly been about ease of access, the girls who were forced to live in BH2 could, at the very least, be allowed to eat in the boys' mess instead of having to walk all the way across campus for their meals [including breakfast before 9am lectures :')]
NLUO's mess system is down-right sexist and unfair, so yeah, "tough luck" for us girls :)
Ease of access: Boys and girls hostel are at two ends of the campus, and the mess is on the ground floor of each hostel.
I’ve heard the girls mess is shit cos food from the mess also goes to the admin, and the admin folks prefer bland food. Tough luck for the girls.
Sunday lunch is still egg and veg fried rice, fries, chana, yellow dal, gunpowder and ghee.
If by special biryani you mean mutton (instead of the usual chicken) then there is really no fixed schedule. It is sometimes served in special dinners (including once in April '21 [the last special dinner for the select few of us who managed to come back to campus for a short while])
It does not offer food but I HAS THE BEST ANYWAY.
Parathas were the best.
Do they still do Dosa in Sunday breakfast? And gunpowder with chana in lunch? And, is there still the special biryani on the final Wednesday of the semester?
