HNLU does not participate for strategic reasons, as it will get a rank much lower than its current CLAT preference rank. NUJS and NLIU may also pull out in future, if NLUJ keeps outranking them.
NIRF website announces it has discontinued perception rankings. It has also started a public feedback system where any member of the public can register and submit a feedback/complaint about any college that has submitted data for the 2021 ranking (until 25 April). You can attach proof . As a trial, I registered and submitted info about a certain NLU which is blatantly cheating and giving fake data. The full list of NLUs listed is given in the link below. The NLUs listed are: Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata (wrong name of NUJS given), Bhopal, Delhi, Cuttack, Kamrup (Assam), Jodhpur, Patiala, Patna, Vishakapatnam, Lucknow and Gandhinagar. Many are missing. Questions should be asked of Mumbai, Raipur, Kochi and Ranchi VCs about why they did not participate. https://login.nirfindia.org/Content/DataDefinitions/Institute_List_IR2021.pdf
It will also be very helpful if LI can do a placement ranking, so that can be submitted. LI should also reach out to the NIRF director for an interview. One problem is that "IT cells" of certain NLUs may register lots of accounts and submit fake praise. The NIRF director should know about it.
